Ongoing advisory

Principal advisory

Independent input to recurring product, architecture, evaluation, or ownership decisions. Agree on the decisions and review cadence that make ongoing involvement useful.

THE SITUATION

When this is useful

A team with recurring technical decisions that benefits from an independent thinking partner while retaining delivery and operational ownership.

THE RESULT

What you leave with

A clearer basis for recurring decisions, with recommendations, responsibilities, and follow-up evidence made explicit.

What the work includes

  • An agreed set of decision areas and a review cadence matched to the work.
  • Review of relevant product, architecture, evaluation, or engineering material.
  • Recommendations and decision records with actions, owners, and review triggers.

Scope boundaries

  • An implied full-time delivery role or unlimited availability.
  • Incident response, on-call coverage, or implementation unless explicitly scoped.

What you contribute

  • A responsible decision owner and timely access to the material being reviewed.
  • People who can act on recommendations and bring the resulting evidence to a later review.

How we assess completion

Each review leaves an explicit decision or next investigation, a responsible owner, and a reason to continue, change, or conclude the arrangement.

AGREEING THE WORK

Clear before we start.

What determines the fee

The question, scope, relevant system paths, available evidence, access requirements, and depth of implementation or review. Fees are quoted in USD. Project totals and monthly advisory fees are agreed for the scope and capacity required.

What we agree before starting

The deliverables, acceptance criteria, responsibilities, fee and currency, schedule, payment terms, and treatment of any third-party costs. These are agreed for your engagement.

When the work changes

New findings may change the useful next step. We review the effect on scope, fee, and timing together before committing to additional work.
